Portage County Watersheds Plan

The Portage County Regional Planning Commission (RPC) is a public planning agency empowered by State Law to provide plans, studies, and implementation programs for Portage County in the following general areas:  Land Use, Environment, Economy, Housing, Community Development, Natural Resource Conservation, Open Space and Recreation, Transportation Systems, Public Facilities and Other Capital Improvements, Energy Conservation, Cultural Resources, Social Conditions, Governmental Functions. 

The mission of the Portage County Regional Planning Commission is:

 "To improve the quality of life in Portage County by helping communities turn vision into action in order to equitably achieve sustainable communities, in harmony with the natural environment." 

Given the broad scope of powers and duties, the RPC provides a wide range of services to Portage County Communities as well as their citizens.  The following is a listing of some of the more typical services provided by RPC, but certainly not all inclusive.

• Flood Hazard Information

• Census Data

• Zoning Information-Maps, Regulations for any Community in County for all Townships

• Subdivision of Land Information and Processing (RPC Administers Subdivision Regulations for all Townships)
• Environmental Information

Housing Assistance and Information:

• Housing Rehabilitation/Loan Programs, (RPC Administers all Community Development Block Grant Programs for the Portage County Commissioners)

Fair Housing Assistance:

• Tenant/Landlord rights
• Referrals for housing discrimination.
