The responsibilities of the
Juvenile Court include hearing all Department of Human Services
cases regarding dependent, neglected and abused children, all
juvenile traffic cases, delinquency and unruly offenses and
adult contributing cases. The Court has jurisdiction over
parentage cases, along with custody, visitation and support. |

The
Portage County Probate Court issues Marriage License, monitors the administration of
decedent estates, manages guardianships of minors and
incompetent adults and presides over all adoptions, name changes
and involuntary mental health and mental retardation
commitments. |
To obtain a copy of a marriage license you may come to the Probate
Clerk’s office during regular business hours or you may request a
copy by writing to:
Portage County Probate Court, PO Box 936,
Ravenna, OH 44266. Include a self addressed stamped envelope, the
bride’s maiden name, the groom’s name, and the date of marriage. The
cost per copy is .25. Certified copies are $1.25 each. The Court
will accept a certified check or money order for payment. Any
