The Office of Economic Development markets Portage County through
advertising, exhibiting at trade shows and responds to businesses
seeking to locate or expand in Portage County. The office maintains a data base of development information which includes industrial sites, buildings, business incentive programs and other business resources. It provides assistance to industrial realtors, builders, local communities and local industries as necessary to maintain and improve the economic base and create jobs in Portage County. PCOED administers Portage County's Enterprise Zone Program and is a partner in the Portage Workforce Connection's employment, training and career system. The office also represents the county on a variety of committees, boards and commissions which deal with economic development and work force development issues.
